Stepping Stones and the Bridge
You may recognize these stepping stones. This is the 臥龍橋 (Garyu-kyo, the sleeping dragon bridge) in the famous Soryu-ike pond in Heian Jingu, an Imperial Shinto shrine in Kyoto, Japan.
I took this picture when I was taking a rare weekend trip to Kyoto, away from my 7x24 work between Boston and Tokyo. The steps are made from stone pillars that once served as foundations of 16th-century bridges.
